Contemporary India-East Africa relations: Changing geographies of power and development

On behalf of Emma Mawdsley and Gerard McCann (both from the University of Cambridge), we would like to cordially invite you to an afternoon workshop at the British Academy on Thursday 20 November 2008, from 2-4 p.m. This workshop is a public event to showcase the outcome of a major research collaboration between BASAS and the British Institute in Eastern Africa (BIEA).  Subjects discussed at the workshop will include geopolitics, trade, investment, development aid, diaspora and Bollywood in East Africa. Refreshments will be available 4-5 p.m.
