PhD Research opportunities at Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany

The Research School established by the German Excellence Initiative and situated at Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany, offers interdisciplinary research opportunities within 11 thematic priorities. Within the thematic priority “Religion and Secularisation” two projects are announced:

1) Interactions between Fundamentalist Movements in the Context of a Conflict (more information: http://www.research-school.rub.de/cms/522.html)

2) Konfuzianismus und Religion (more information: http://www.research-school.rub.de/cms/532.html)

Research School scholarships are research assistantships for doctoral candidates offered as employment contracts. Net salary after taxes, social contributions and health insurance is typically 1,100 € per month. In addition, there is a 1,000 € p.a. lump sum payment to the scholars for consumables and travel.

Suitable candidates for scholarships are selected in a two stage process. Deadline for the 3rd international call for application is on January 31st 2009. The earliest start of funding will be May 1, 2009.
