Visiting Senior Research Fellowship 2010-2011

Posted in News/Information, Research Fellowships, Vacancies by Pippa on January 13, 2009

The President and Fellows of St. John’s College invite applications for a Visiting Senior Research Fellowship for the academic year 2010-11, or part thereof.  The Fellowship is intended to offer an experienced academic (normally with considerable postdoctoral experience) of outstanding distinction, from abroad or from the United Kingdom, an opportunity to pursue his or her own study or research as a member of the College.

Participation in the activities of the College’s Research Centre by the Fellow would be welcomed.  The Research Centre was established to provide focus and support for the College’s intellectual and academic life, to support new research, and to enhance the College’s role in promoting first-class innovative research in the University of Oxford and the academic community at large.

The Fellow will be expected to reside in Oxford during term.  Accommodation (free of charge) for a married or unmarried Fellow will be provided in the vicinity of the College.  The Fellow will have the right to lunch and dine in College, also free of charge.  There is no stipend attached to the Fellowship and no facilities or domestic help can be offered to spouses, partners or family members (beyond sharing the above accommodation).

There is no application form for these Fellowships.  Applications, in the form of a letter, should include a full curriculum vitae, the names of three referees and a statement of the research or other work proposed during the Fellowship.  Applications should be received by the Academic Administrator, St. John’s College, Oxford OX1 3JP, not later than noon on Monday 9th March 2009.

Please note that emailed and faxed applications will not be accepted.
