Perceiving the Indian culture comprehensively with all its artistic impulses, conflicts, contradictions and limitations, the Akademi aims to function with a panoramic view to involve all genres of creativity in its activities.

The Akademi aspires to become a hub of cultural activity in this unique architectural marvel called Chandigarh, planned and designed by the legendary architect Le Corbusier and the capital city of the states of Punjab and Haryana, by engaging into various activities to satiate the aspirations, expectations and the desire to participate by its citizens in the artistic life of this very special city symbolizing the modern along with the traditional values of India.

The objectives and guidelines of the Akademi are development and dissemination; encouragement and promotion, study and research in the field of creative arts such as Painting, Sculpture, Graphics, Drawing, Photography, Installation art, Multi Media and other such forms.
